NEVER AGAIN, FOR A WHILE

I looked at myself shaving
After a night of misbehaving
And mistakes like they were going out of style.
When my trouble gets this deep,
There's one promise I can keep.
Never again, for awhile.

They towed what was left away
Of the car I wrecked today
New, and it had under ninety miles
I felt like I could own a
Position at Daytona
Never again, for awhile.

What's the point of making vows?
I won't feel like I do now.
When evening falls just like the night before.
Its not that I can't learn.
But....
When the spirit starts to burn
I'm that guy who asks for just one more.

She walked out of court today
In that sweet and graceful way
As the day I walked her down the aisle.
Now I've lost another spouse.
And it's cost another house.
Never again, for awhile.
Never again.
Never...
Hello darlin'
