DON VISITS ROANOKE

My old pal! He comes to visit!
I wonder, hmm, what should we do?
Something bold? What is it
Old friends can discover anew?

It can't be just like the old days
Cause we weren't the same people then.
Looking for thrills in unworldly ways
Letting youth convert itches to yens.

Will I seem to him familiar?
The same easy comfort return?
Will he be to me peculiar?
With fishy, exotic concerns?

No sweat! We still have in common
The pastimes that bridge all the years
Take a moment. Breathe! Say amen
To cigars, conversation and beer.
